Karen Anderson LMFT

You’re doing everything right—and still getting the same result

You’re thoughtful. Self-aware. Capable.

And still—

  • Conversations don’t land the way you expect

  • You find yourself explaining more than you want to

  • You repeat the same dynamics in different relationships

Not because you’re missing something obvious.

Because something deeper hasn’t been identified.

With over 18 years of experience, Karen Anderson is dedicated to helping individuals and couples navigate life’s challenges, break free from old patterns, and step into empowered, authentic living.

Karen specializes in relationship dynamics, trauma recovery, and personal transformation. She understands that struggles—whether rooted in past wounds, anxiety, emotional disconnection, or toxic relationships—can leave people feeling stuck and uncertain. She helps clients reclaim their confidence, clarity, and ability to create fulfilling relationships and lives through compassionate, evidence-based therapy.

Transformation Beyond Talk Therapy

Karen’s approach is about real, lasting change—not just coping but breaking free and stepping fully into the life you’re meant to live. She integrates EMDR, Parts & Memory Therapy, Polyvagal Theory, and a person-centered, embodied approach to healing.

Her work is built on a foundation of confidence, boundaries, and deep connection. She helps clients strengthen their sense of self while fostering meaningful, secure relationships. By addressing both the mind and body, Karen guides clients toward greater emotional resilience, self-trust, and the ability to engage fully in their lives.

Karen’s Experience Includes:

✔️ Trauma Recovery & EMDR Therapy
✔️ Relationship & Couples Therapy
✔️ Healing from Narcissistic Abuse & Toxic Relationships
✔️ Emotional Intelligence & Conscious Boundaries
✔️ Personal Growth & Life Transitions

Why This Work Exists

For years, I sat in rooms where intelligent people could not understand each other.

Executives who led companies but couldn’t reach their partners.

Couples who loved each other but felt chronically misunderstood.

High-capacity individuals who were respected publicly and reactive privately.

They were not lacking insight.

They were misaligned in how they were positioned.

Most people assume conflict is about communication.

It isn’t.

It’s about what happens internally before you speak.

It’s about how authority is held.

It’s about whether you brace, collapse, over-function, or withdraw when pressure rises.

I began to see that many relational breakdowns were not about personality, pathology, or even

intention.

They were about stance.

Where someone believes they are standing in the relationship.

Where they are actually standing.

And the gap between the two.

That gap creates tension.

Close the gap, and the dynamic changes.

Over time, my work evolved from symptom reduction to relational calibration.

Less focus on “who is wrong.”

More focus on how power, responsibility, and regulation are flowing between people.

This is the work I do now.

It is precise.

It is grounded.

It requires accountability.

And it changes how you move in the rooms that matter most.

My Approach to Therapy

Therapy with me is an accepting, nonjudgmental space and a collaborative process.

I never take for granted the role I serve in supporting others through their therapy process. My task as your therapist is to create a safe space for you to do some uncomfortable work, because let’s face it: change and growth are uncomfortable. And therapy is work. But we will always go at your pace, and never with an expectation that you have to share more than you want to or are ready to share.

In therapy with me, you’ll find you can say the things you need to say without a filter, needing to “stay on track,” or fear of judgment. My role is to hold space for whatever is it you want to bring into therapy, and to help you decide where and how we focus on these topics in order for you to develop new and deeper insights, change long-held patterns, and feel like you’re moving in the direction you want and need to be in life.

Life Wide Awake remains

her personal philosophy: live with presence, listen deeply, and re-author what comes next with authenticity, clarity, and compassion.

“From self-abandonment to self-honor — one conscious choice at a time.”

Cancellation policy: You will be charged the full fee for cancelled or rescheduled sessions with less than 24 hours’ notice, as well as in the event of a no-show. Exceptions for unavoidable conflict or emergencies, under which we can make other arrangements to avoid the cancellation fee.

When you enter into therapy with us, we commit to you, and we ask you to be equally invested.

We reserve an appointment time just for you. We carefully limit how many clients we choose to work with at any given time, which ultimately allows us to serve you best by not burning out and therefore being able to be present for you. Outside of working hours, we’re working hard to continue learning inclusive and effective therapeutic practices to best support your therapeutic goals.

You’re tired of being your own worst enemy, second-guessing yourself and your relationships, and simultaneously overextending yourself while making yourself and your needs small with everyone.

You’re burnt out, disillusioned, and discouraged after trying to hold on to hope that tomorrow will be different, yet still falling into the same patterns over and over again. You have a sense that you can have a life with more confidence, stability, and connected and fulfilling relationships, and are thinking it’s time you get some support...

This is a space for you.

...Karen Anderson was the best thing to happen to my family since my kids were born...my marriage was saved and my wife and I found love again. I recommend anyone with family issues. You will receive great information and be more knowledgeable in your relationship" A.C

Morgan James, NY

C... and I have been clients of Karen for the past four years and have been so happy with the results that we have recommended her many times to other couples. Karen has taught us to speak a common language so that we can actually communicate without stress and drama. I firmly believe that if we had not received couples therapy from Karen we would not be a happily married couple today.
I began seeing Karen for my anxiety issues and panic attacks initially. The therapy was open, casual and she was inviting and non-judgmental. Throughout 6 months we worked through my anxiety with both traditional therapy, hypnosis, and EMDR. By the end of 6 months my anxiety had tremendously improved. I felt so satisfied with Karen and he r work that I began seeing her to work on my relationship. My fiancé an d I saw her to help us with communication. The tools she gave us were extremely helpful and she is an extremely knowledgeable resource. I would recommend Karen Anderson to anyone struggling with anxiety or any type of emotional  problem as well as for anyone seeking relationship counseling. Karen is truly a phenomenal person and my life has not been the same since working with her!
